MIND YOUR LANGUAGE

As a Christian you are like God, you were made in His image and likeness (Gen 1:27); what God said came into being, same thing with you, your words have creative ability, so it is important to mind your language. Like Bill Johnson said, “Only say those things to which the Holy Spirit can say Amen”, that is to say your confessions should align with your nature (God’s nature).

As a Christian you have the authority to permit or prohibit things in your life and your world. In Matthew 16:19 (Good News Bible) Jesus told his disciple: “I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of heaven; what you prohibit on earth will be prohibited in heaven, and what you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven." This authority is our present day possession. But how do we exercise this authority? It is with our mouth.

What you say determines what happens in your life. If you confess sickness, you have used your authority to permit sickness into your life. In the same way, if you confess divine health, you have permitted divine health to operate in your body. God permits in your life what you have permitted with your tongue, so don’t expect to walk in divine health if sickness is all you have been confessing.

Make it your habit to confess the Word. Declare victory, success, divine health, peace and joy to your life all the time. Don’t wait for things to happen to you, make things happen by declaring what you want to see. Kenneth E. Hagin once said, “If you don’t like what you see, change what you say”. When God saw the world formless and empty in the beginning, He didn’t sit down and throw a pity party, he spoke life to it. Genesis chapter 1 records the phrase “God said” 10 times, which means God wasn’t looking at the emptiness and formlessness of the world in despair. Looking at it purposefully, He pictured what he wanted to see and spoke.

What do you want to see in your life, in your family, in your relationship or in your country? Say it and you will have it. And whatever you want, until you have confirmed that you have gotten what you wanted and it is good, keep saying it. Don’t settle for a molehill when you can get a mountain.
